Kenya Flower Festival 2021: When Hope Blooms

Hosted by Radisson Blue Arboretum, Kenya Flower Festival brought together companies, flower enthusiasts, and flower growers.
Kenya is one of the top three lead exporters of flowers worldwide. The festival symbolized a milestone in the horticulture industry. The main cut flowers grown in Kenya are roses, carnations, and Alstromeria. Other flowers cultivated include Gypsophila, Lilies Eryngiums, arabicum, hypericum, Statice, a range of summer flowers amongst many others.
This year’s theme “When Hope Blooms” was very symbolic due to covid-19. The horticulture/flower industry was adversely affected during the pandemic and the festival was meant to bring back hope.
Lazuli House Kenya was lucky enough to win two free tickets for the high tea party. This was such a great opportunity to network with people in the industry.
In attendance was the famous Mabel Maposa who is an international award-winning Floral Designer based in Cape Town South Africa.
The exquisite exhibitions included floral designs, flower art installations, and creative designs. Here are some of the designs I captured at the festival.
